Our Appraisal Services Include:

Summary Certified Machinery & Equipment Appraisals

Typically includes an on-site inspection by the appraiser to document specific information regarding the machinery or equipment, including, but not limited to; model numbers, serial numbers, engine size/hours, mileage, upgrades or modifications (if any), date of acquisition and condition. Asset is photographed and tagged with an appraisal identification decal. Report details major equipment with related picture for easy reference.

Desktop Certified Machinery & Equipment Appraisals

Are performed without an onsite inspection of the asset by the appraiser. We provide the client with an “equipment documentation form” and “definitions of conditions”, to complete and return to us. Clients are responsible for collecting all physical data, report current conditions and supply us with digital photographs. American Business Appraisers relies upon the detailed description provided by the client to form an opinion of value.

Types of Analysis:

Fair Market Value (FMV)

Can be defined as the price at which the property would change hands between a willing buyer and a willing seller, neither being under the compulsion to buy or sell; and both having reasonable knowledge of the relevant facts. This value assumes the equipment is maintained according to the manufacturer’s recommendations and performance standards. This value reflects the value based on the condition found on a physical inspection.

Orderly Liquidation Value (OLV)

Is the estimated gross amount expressed in terms of money which could be typically realized from a liquidation sale, given a reasonable period to find a purchaser(s), the seller being compelled to sell on an as is condition – where is location basis, as of a specific date.

Forced Liquidation Value (FLV)

Is the estimated gross amount expressed in terms of money which could be typically realized from a properly advertised and conducted public auction, with the seller being forced to sell with a sense of urgency on an as is-where is basis, as of a specific date, usually held within 60 days of equipment possession. The value does not consider extra removal, painting or transportation costs from the original location that may be borne.

Chris Bedforth has over 30 yrs experience in the equipment Rental , Sales and Service business holding positions from Sales Representative, Branch Manager, Manger of Business Development, Regional Manager and President.  He has worked for large corporate Rental companies and has owned several independent companies. Ray Gordon Equipment, Komatsu Rents, SMS Rents , Bracebridge/Huntsville/Haliburton Rental and Protrac Equipment.

 

Lloyd Spalding has over 45 years experience in the finance, leasing and construction industries, including: President of Skyjack Inc., CEO of American Equipment Leasing Inc., Senior Vice President of ABN AMRO Bank Canada, Director and Consultant for Bermingham Construction Ltd., and part owner of various rental companies with Chris Bedforth.
